L.A. Premier FC BU12 Winner at Cerritos Memorial Challenge Cup
Coach Barry Ritson led his newly formed BU12 LA Premier FC team into the Cerritos Memorial Day tournament hoping to continue his teams development of their style of play, not only did they succeed in playing some excellent passing soccer, they also took home a winners medal.
The competitiveness of this tournament enabled the group to continue to focus on developing their passing and attacking game against great opponents from Cal South (FC Man Utd), Cal North (Bullard Alliance and Roadrunners FC) and even a Nevada squad (Las Vegas Soccer Academy LVSA).
At the start of each game the squad were given 3 development topics that they would be graded on at half time and full time, this led the players into focusing on specific aspects of their game rather than the scoreline. It helped the boys concentrate on playing attractive, attacking soccer in the hope that results would go their way as a byproduct of their playing style.
Pool play Results:
6-0 vs FC Man Utd
2-1 vs Roadrunners
2-0 vs LVSA
Final:
2-1 vs Bullard Alliance
Congratulations boys on a great weekend of soccer!
